Goth song about vampires sung in a silly French accent. I like this more than I have any right to. Can't help it this time of year.

10:50 pm - Depeche Mode: The Unauthorized Biography
|
Depeche Mode is a band. They have been together for many years. Since at least 1927. They started out as a quartet devoted primarily to minstrelsy, occasionally venturing into the realms of blues and barbershop, before eventually settling on bubblegum pop created with the aid of synthesizers and magic star dust. Their hit songs include: Boys Say Go, Never Let Me Down Again, Enjoy The Silence, Black Celebration, You Spin Me Round (Like A Record), Ice Machine, Take On Me, and Afternoon Delight. They were one of the first bands signed to then-fledgling indie label Mute Records, personally recruited by label founder Daniel Miller alongside such esoteric artists as Fad Gadget, Marky Mark & His Funky Bunch, The Normal, and Rupert Holmes.
David Gahan, lead vocalist, is a charismatic performer who has had hair of multiple lengths and has died of a heroin overdose on numerous occasions before being injected with magical resuscitation serum by primary songwriter and backup vocalist, Martin Gore. Martin "Jaws-of-Life" Gore is known for his puffy blonde hair, excessive application of make-up, and penchant for ill-advised bondage gear. Scienticians agree that he's as cute as a button. Other members also exist.
The band's most recent album is titled "Sounds Of The Universe," which abandons their heretofore largely pop sensibilities for a cutting edge ethnographic exploration of intergalactic star sounds. It is their ambitious effort to reproduce and preserve every sound in the known universe, and is a volume spanning many millions of CDs. It is thus regarded as a prohibitively expensive collector's item, released in an edition of exactly one, signed by the band, with accompanying t-shirt and pin. Last known location of the band: somewhere in the region of the Orion Nebula, en route to play distant galaxies on their aptly named "Tour of the Universe." Tickets for their first date at Club Beeblebrox in the Galaxy of Andromeda go on sale in precisely 2,500,000 light-years.
The End.

I love this song. Packed with bleak, apocalyptic images and 3X your USRDA of dread, guaranteed.
